Gedhun Choekyi Nyima disappeared a few days after he was recognized as the Eleventh Panchen Lama of Tibet by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 14 May, 1995.

Today, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima is the world's youngest political prisoner under Chinese custody.
This petition is being issued to seek worldwide support for the immediate and unconditional release of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, his parents and more than 50 other Tibetans arbitrarily detained in 1995 in Tibet for supporting the True Panchen Lama as recognized by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
