On 6 and 7 May, the United Nations have held a series of meetings in preparation for the General Assembly Special Session on drugs, UNGASS, planned for 2016, the events culminated with a high-level debate on May 7. Protagonists of the plenary session were the Latin American countries, which constructive criticism was led by Colombia that laid out 12 points for action towards UNGASS 2016. Less enthusiastic were the Europeans always looking for an internal consensus before addressing the UN.
