Pannella: tonight, 2th of October 2010, I’ll start a Satyagraha, with a hunger strike that I’m frightened will be the hardest and longest of all I’ve done, and these are the objectives: to go over possible signal of another Shoa.

Speech of Marco Pannella
Tonight, at midnight, I’ll start my Satyagraha , with a hunger strike, to celebrate in this way, and to give body, face, hand, voice to the solemn “International non violent day” declared by the UN.
It’s no accident that this day is totally ignored from all the italian Institutions and political party Regime, ex – republican and ex-democratic, that oppress us. Spes contra spem. To be hope, if you don’t have it!
As declared, my Radical nonviolent initiative will have two objectives:

Gaddafi - Berlusconi: Pannella, I was overwhelmed with shame.

President Berlusconi,

As I was listening your conference with Gaddafi I was overwhelmed with shame. You stated repeatedly that not only the two States, but also the “two peoples”, Italians and Libyans, are united in the celebration of the agreement between the Italian Republic and the Jamaria. That qualifies you, at best, as the heir of the “Graziani” of the particratic adn non-democratic Italy that you are running today. In so doing you represent the Italian people just as much as Gaddafi does with his. Don’t be offended by this comparison: it’s yours!

"Ferragosto 2009 in carcere" an Monitoring Initiative by Radicali Italiani

Since their first presence in the Italian Parliament in 1976, members of the Radical Party have always dedicated particular attention to the national prison system denouncing the violations of Constitutional norms, the poor quality of the detention facilities as well as the living and working conditions of both inmates and the penitentiary police. For years Radicals have visited jails all over the country meeting common criminals, politicians as well as non-citizens hearing their stories and activating, wherever possible, legal mechanisms to better their living conditions but also to reform laws that were generating crimes, such as for instance those designed to 'control' narcotic substances or to 'regulate' migrating flows.
