Is Italy to face a new EU infringement procedure?

Italy and 10 other EU countries (Bulgaria, France, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania and Sweden) failed to fully implement the EU directive on the reorganization and the resolution of banks by May 28. For this reason, the European Commission decided to send the countries concerned a "reasoned opinion". This represents the second step in the infringement procedure. If the directive will not have been fully implemented within two months (the deadline had expired on 31 December 2014), the European Commission may refer countries to the EU Court of Justice.
