Moscow, May 4, 2003. A demonstration within the framework of the World Marijuana March was held today in the afternoon in Moscow, near Pushkin monument. About 20 persons took part in the action - representatives of various public movements and spiritual groups practising religious use of marijuana, and ordinary students and young people too. Several activists of the Transnational Radical Party and the Club Khramov also took part in the demonstration.

Participants of the demonstration distributed among the passers-by leaflets with the text of the petition "Legalize marijuana", initiated by Russian Radicals (signatures are being collected under this petition on the site www.radikaly.ru), and the text of the article "cannabis" from the Big Soviet encyclopedia. Some of demonstrators openly smoked hemp. There wasn't any counteraction on the part of law enforcement bodies.
