USSR - PRISONERS OF PEACE: RADICAL OLEG GORSCENIN IS RELEASED AFTER 10 MONTHS OF IMPRISONMENT FOR CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION


Moscow, February 2, 1990 - The term of imprisonment of Oleg Gorscenin, the Radical Party 1990 member, jailed in April 1990 for conscientious objection, was stopped by court of Sovietskij district of Orsk town, Orenburg region on January 22, 1990. He spent 10 months and 16 dais in labour camp of Orenburg . Though the formal reason of new trial that released Gorscenin was unsatisfactory investigation, by words of Procurator office staff it was caused by great deal of letters from abroad in support of Gorscenin delivered to official bodies. Now Oleg Gorscenin returned to Moscow to renew his membership in the Radical Party of 1991.
