FROM DECEMBER 23 TO 28 THE DELEGATION WILL HAVE MEETINGS WITH INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVES AND MEMBERS OF THE OPPOSITION

From December 23 to 28, a delegation composed by Matteo Mecacci, TRP UN Representative, Nicola Dell’Arciprete, member of the general secretariat of UNPO and Diego Galli, editor of www.radioradicale.it will participate in the international monitoring of the Ukrainian Presidential elections between the opposition leader Vicktor Yushenko and the Prime Minister Vicktor
Yanukovich on December 26.
The delegation is accredited with the US based organization Freedom House that coordinates with the coalition ENEMO more than 1000 local and international monitors. The results of the monitoring of the previous round of elections by ENEMO, together with that of OSCE, has led to its annulment by the Supreme Court.
In Ukraine the delegation will meet political and institutional representatives and besides that, numerous civic associations from all over Europe such as PORA, ZUBR and KMARA which are also involved in the monitoring of the elections to ensure the respect of the rule of law in Ukraine also thanks to non-violent demonstrations.
Among the meetings there will be also one with Nadir Bekir, political director of the Assembly of Tartars of Crimea.
