Dear Friends,

This morning a meeting of the Senate of the Radical Party was held with the participation of "constituent" radicals:

- Italian Radicals;
- Luca Coscioni Association;
- Hands Off Cain;
- Esperanto Radikala Asocio;
- No Peace Without Justice;
- Anticlericale.net;
- Bonino List Delegation Deputies to the EP;
- International Antiprohibition League;
- Russian Radicals Association;
- Tass;
- Production Centre;

We have proceeded in electing the President (and I write to you in that capacity) and in adopting several early decisions aimed at tackling and overcoming the serious political-organisational situation the Radical Party especially but also the whole area are in.
I am sending you this brief communication, with reservation to send soon (within ten days at the most) a more extensive radical list, a synthetic yet more congruous report to inform you better on the situation of the area and the aims that we, as Senate, are devoting ourselves to.

In addition to electing the President of the Senate and the Board of Auditors of the TRP (permanent members: Ranieri Clerici, Aldimira Minozzi, Diego Sabatinelli; deputy members: Andrea Torelli, Eleonora C. Cretella), in subrogation of a due act not performed by the Congress, the following decisions have been taken:


1) The Senate:
- Takes note of the communication by Marco Pannella and the Pannella List of wanting immediate intervention to rectify the various matters outstanding of the Radical Party dependents and/or collaborators, and of the request put forth by Pannella to the Treasurer of the Radical Party, on 6 July 2005, of transmitting the entire debt situation of the Radical Party towards dependents and/or various collaborators, as well as towards other suppliers of goods and/or services, stating their amounts and characteristics, the dates they were made and, as far as public, social security and fiscal bodies are concerned, the state of exposure deriving from penalties, fines, legal penalties already incurred by the Radical Party and any new due dates and the amount of such penalties.
- Also takes note that the determination of Marco Pannella and the Pannella List was put forward, as specified in the letter of 6 July mentioned previously, "in the attempt to continue, as far as the Pannella List or myself as militant are concerned, in helping as far as one can and possibly even more so to keep things and all of us who are part of it going".
- Lastly takes notes of the fact that as of today, when the Senate presents this deliberation, the Treasurer has given no reply.
- Having taken note of all the above, the Senate requests the Treasurer to comply with the above request immediately, and in any case no later than 12 July, stressing that otherwise - with all consequent political and administrative responsibility of the Treasurer - it would be impossible to work within the necessary times for preventing the implementation of the Pannella List's decision aimed at overcoming the very serious condition of the Party.


2) The Senate of the Radical Party requests the Treasurer of the Radical Party to fulfil the statutory obligation of presenting the balance sheets for the years 2002, 2003, 2004. In particular, the balance sheet for 2004 must be accompanied by the financial report of the Board of Auditors. The Senate also requests of the Treasurer of the Radical Party, with particular urgency, the budget and financial situation as of 20 June 2005.
