TEXT OF THE MESSAGE BY BRUNO MELLANO BROADCASTED TODAY FROM A CLANDESTINE RADIO IN LAOS

Dear friends and brothers of Laos,

"don't forget us" it has been the last message of the Phontong's prisoners in Vientiane, when my four radical comrades and I have been released to be definitively expelled from the Country of the elephants.

We were lucky and privileged, we are alive and we could come back to our families, to our job and to our political activities in order to ask that the western democracies stop it to help dictatorships hoping so to help the populations.

The manifestation, the arrest, the night interrogatories, the 15 days of jail detainment, the farce trial, the sentence and the expulsion are by now a memory of a nonviolent, difficult but meaningful political initiative, from which I draw further force in order to continue to fight!

In the recent years the European and Italian democratics institutions have been forced to take care of Laos: little and badly sure, but at least now they know that a problem "Laos" does exist.

With the many Laotians friends, forced to live outside their Country, we have tried to hold lit up the attention on Laos and with the Transnational Radical Party we will continue to make it.

As far as we are concerned: Forever expelled from the Country of the elephants in order to have asked democracy and freedom? Forever deprived of the beauties of the landscape,of the architectures, of the Laotian humanity just to have opened one banner and to have distribute some inserts?

I hope not!

I hope one day, not too much far away, we can be together along the Mekong river on the central square of Vientiane in a big manifestation for reconciliation, free to speak and act for a better world, for a more fair society, for a democratic and prosperous Laos.

I' m happy I can embrace you all, like a brother, through this radio message.
