2005-02-09

Moscow, February 9, 2005. The First TV-channel broadcast Andrey Malakhov's program "Five evenings" ("Pyat vecherov"), dedicated, in particular, to the problem of surrogate motherhood. Darya Ladur, member of the Coordinating Committee of the "Russian Radicals", took part in the program as a guest and called for adoption of the federal law which should adjust legal relationship arising in connection with surrogate motherhood and, in particular, guarantee rights of genetic parents which today are not protected by the law and depend on good will of surrogate mother (who may write or not write a waiver of maternal rights in respect of the child she born) and of bodies of trusteeship over minors (which are authorized to give permission for adoption of a "waived" child by his genetic parents).
