From Friday 7th to Tuesday 11th of May, a delegation of the Nonviolent Radical Party with Senator Marco Perduca and Artur Nura, eventually joined by Marco Pannella on Sunday 9, is in the Balkans in preparation of the General Council of the Nonviolent Radical Party, which will be held from the 28th till the 30th of May at the Italian Senate in Rome.

On Friday, Perduca and Nura met with the deputies of the Albanese Socialist Party Pandeli Majko and Ermelinda Meksi, long time Radical members, to prepare the Monday morning meeting with Marco Pannella and Edi Rama, mayor of Tirana and leader of the opposition Socialist Party. This will be followed by a long meeting with the leaders of the Chami community, now represented in Parliament, for which Maurizio Turco and Marco Cappato presented a number of motions in the European Parliament and on whose discrimination in Greece the Radical Party presented documentation before the United Nations Human Rights Commission. Mr. Shpetim Idrisi, MP, Member of the Albanese Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for the Justice and Unity Party, along with his two collaborators enrolled with the Radical Party. Mr. Idrisi, who will announce his membership in a press conference Tuesday morning at 930, will be participating in the General Council in Rome.

On Saturday, the Radical Delegation visited Kosovo, where, thanks to the Radical Member Bujiar Dugolli, Minister of Industry and trade in the Kosovar Government and one of the leaders of the student movement, Perduca and Nura met with the President of the Parliament, Jakup Krasniqi, and the Minister for European Integration, Besim Beqaj. For the first time Ismet Beqiri from the Democratic League of Kosovo, President of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Committee in the Pristina Parliament, Dr. Naser Rugova, leader of the Democratic League of Dardania, joyned the Radical Party. Perduca and Nura met also Sula Gjylnaze, MP, of the Alliance for Kosovo to discuss the national political context.

The delegation discussed in particural how to support the Kosovar requests to be integrated in the European area at all possible levels.
