Matthew Mecacci MP was re-elected president of the Committee on Human Rights, Democracy and Humanitarian Affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe), during the 21st annual session held in the Principality of Monaco. Mr Mecacci begins his second term as president of this commission.
The conference has approved a resolution and other motions concerning various subjects: protection of vulnerable populations against human trafficking; Belarus; fighting racism and xenophobia affecting people of African descent; an inquiry into the extraordinary rendition of prisoners; improvement of electoral proceedings in State party to the OSCE, transnational fugitives.
