While self-exiled opposition leader Sam Rainsy has said in a recent interview in the pro-CPP newspaper Rasmei Kampuchea that he would return to Cambodia by mid-September, Prime Minister Hun Sen hinted this morning at the fact that Sam Rainsy could face charges related to the Cheam Channy case. Through his comment, Hun Sen apparently wanted to warn Sam Rainsy against coming back to the country. The Prime Minister might go one step further by warning any airline company against carrying Sam Rainsy in the same way he officially warned in 1996 that he would shoot down any airplane carrying Prince Norodom Sirivudh who was planning to return from exile before a royal pardon was granted (see news above).
