During the official meeting of the Euopean Parliament delegation, to a punctual request made by Mr Marco Pannella, Silvan Shalom, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Israelian Government, on behalf of the majority replied "I can't exclude the formal request to Israel to become member of the European Union". Moreover, he added: "We will be glad to be accepted by the European Union".
Talking to Marco Pannella at the end of the meeting he said: "I hope that eventually we will be member of the European Union".
