FM spokesman: Italian senators unwelcome in Vietnam
Tweet
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Dec. 25 that two Italian senators of the Transnational Radical Party are not welcome in Vietnam as they intended to conduct activities that go beyond their stated purpose of tourism when applying for entry to the country.
However, in response to the press’ enquiry about reports that senators Pannella and Perduca were not able to gain entry into Vietnam, spokesman Le Dung said that was the matter between the two senators and the tourist agency that served them.
Dung went on to stress that it is a well-known fact that Pannella and the Transnational Radical Party have engaged in many anti-Vietnam activities and supported a number of reactionary overseas Vietnamese in undermining Vietnam’s solidarity and national unity.
“Mr. Pannella and Mr. Perduca had asked to enter Vietnam for tourism reason, but they intended to conduct activities that go beyond their stated purpose. Therefore, the two senators are not welcome in the country”, the spokesman said.-Enditem
