CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION: PRESS CONFERENCE OF SOVIET DELEGATION IN BRUSSELS


(Brussels, 6 June 1991) - During the press conference given by members of Soviet delegation in the Institute for Cultural Affairs, they outlined the situation with conscientious objection in the USSR.

Igor Bogdanov, deputy of Supreme Soviet USSR (IRG), informed journalists about perspectives of the admission of low about alternative civilian service by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

Members of Radical Party Nikolaj Khramov and Aleksandr Pronozin gave the numbers of conscientious objectors in Soviet Union, related about Radical Party's campaign to recognize right of conscientious objection and told about their own experience (both are conscientious objectors).
