CHINA: 35 NON-CHINESE ARRESTED IN BEIJING WHILE DEMONSTRATING TO SUPPORT THE FALUNGONG. THEY ARE THE ONLY WESTERN POLITICAL PRESENCE IN THE REGION DUPUIS SAYS.

Brussels, 20.11.01. 35 citizens of western countries, n particular from the U.S., Canada and Europe, staged today a demonstration at the Tienammen square in solidarity with the Falungong victims of the ferocious repression of the Chinese Communist regime.
Statement by Olivier Dupuis, MEP and Secretary of the Transnational Radical Party:

We salute the action of those activists who, to counter the paralysis of the international community - and in particular of the European Union- and the involution of the course of events in the People's Republic of China and in its Tibetan and Uighur colonies, but also in other Asian countries like Vietnman, Laos and Burma, have decided to take action against the systematic violation of fundamental rights in Asia. They represent the only western concrete political presence in that region.

We commend their activities and we express our solidarity to all those who demonstrated in Beijing to support the Falungong and to denounce the cruel persecution carried out by the national-communist regime of Jang Zemin.
