Moscow. Chechen leader Aslan Maskhadov has agreed to mediate in the hostage drama in the South Russian school. As his spokesman Ahmed Zakayev told the AFP news agency on Thursday, North Ossetian President Aleksandr Dzasokhov and Ex-president of Ingushetia Ruslan Aushev had approached him with such a request. "We discussed the possibility to include the Chechen leadership - and that means Maskhadov - in the search for a solution", Zakayev said on the phone from Great Britain, where he enjoys political asylum.
