ACADEMICIAN ALEKSANDR ALEKSANDROV: "I JOIN RADICAL PARTY, BEING AGAINST ANY KIND OF KILLING"


(Moscow, December 12, 1991) - Aleksandr Aleksandrov, 79 year old matematician from Sankt Petersburg, member of Russian Academy of Science, joined today the Radical Party. He gave such motivation of his step:

"Speaking recently in Rome at the conference on the collaboration in Europe, which was organized by Academy Lincei, I told: 'The scientists have not work up into weapons technologies, because the person, who prepares weapon, is preparing the killing. This is a havy sin.' I am against any kind of killing, especially when the state sanctifies it. I spoke about the necessety to abolish death penalty already 30 years ago, being member of Supreme Soviet. Exactly that is why I join now Radical Party."
