During the antiprohibitionist demonstration held in Piazza Navona, that was organised by Lista Pannella and in which more than thousand persons have participated, about 900 batches containing 1/2 gram of hashish were distributed. The militants and leaders of Lista Pannella were arrested and denounced for distributing the drugs for free: Rita Bernardini, two times, Olivier Dupuis (Secretary of the Transnational Radical Party), also two times, Pier Luigi Camici, Alessandro Caforio (redactor of Radio Radicale), Mauro Zanella, Cristiana Puglisi and Marco Pannella, who has offered a packet containing hashish to a Police official.

The objective of this initiative is to reform DPR 309/90 on drugs, which prohibits consuming soft drugs as well as heroin and hashish, linking thousands of young people with the illegal and criminal drug market. Because of this, thousands of arrests, imprisonment and penal processes involve each year, among others, citizens whose only "crime" is giving for free a substance whose danger is equal or smaller than that of main legal drugs like alcohol and tobacco. Such repressive activity finishes paralysing the judiciary administration and absorbing precious energies of police in nonsense and lost war.

Lista Pannella announces that such demonstrations will continue in the next weeks and months until the topic of legalisation of soft drugs will be put in the order of the day and discussed by the Parliament

On Wednesday at 15.00, in Penal Tribunal in Rome, Marco Pannella and other leaders of Lista Pannella will be judged for similar acts of civil disobedience done in 1995 during the antiprohibitionist demonstrations in Porta Portese and Piazza Navona; at 20.30, in Hotel Universo in Rome, new assembly of Lista Pannella.
